Bio

2017-2018 Athlete of the Year

Lindemayer Gomes came to Cowley from Porto Alegre, Brazil where she was an accomplished pole vaulter who competed in the Youth Olympic Games in 2014. She has continued her success at Cowley where she was the indoor conference and region champion in the pole vault before capturing the national championship in the pole vault at the 2018 indoor nationals.

Her stellar indoor season helped the Lady Tiger track and field team to a conference title and a top-10 national finish.

She has continued to dominate during the outdoor season, having already won the women's pole vault at the Southwestern College Invitational, Bethel Invitational, and Tiger Invite, while also qualifying for the outdoor nationals in the event.

The nutrition major has a GPA of 4.0 and was previously named the April Female Athlete of the Month.

"It was my dream to come to America and study," Lindemayer Gomes said. "I set goals and did my best to achieve them. Cowley has been a great experience."
