The Cowley College Tigerette Dance Team is a proud and respected group of collegiate student-athletes that support Tiger athletics. The Tigerettes dance and cheer at all home women’s and men’s basketball games, along with appearances at various community events and college functions. The team performs a variety of styles including jazz, pom, and hip hop. The Tigerettes attend NDA dance camp each summer and perform in showcases and competitions during the year.
Cowley awards full tuition and book dance scholarships to all Tigerette members that qualify! Members must maintain a 2.0 grade point average and be a full-time Cowley student.
During the school year, the team practices five times a week. Members enroll in Rhythm class and receive college credit for attending practices. The college also offers introduction to dance, jazz, and tap classes through the theater department.
Expenses directly associated with being a member of the Tigerettes are supported by the Cowley College athletic department. Team members receive uniforms, practice clothes, and additional equipment. There are minimal out-of-pocket expenses for team members. Fundraisers are held throughout the year to cover additional expenses.
