Short-handed Tigers tripped up by the Aggies

Playing without freshman Felipe Garla, the Cowley College men's tennis team had to mix up its lineup while playing at NCAA Division II Cameron University on Thursday in Lawton, OK. The Tigers won two of three doubles matches before dropping four of six singles matches in the 4-3 road defeat.

Cowley's victories in doubles play came from its No. 2 and No. 3 tandems, while Valentin Greco and David De Hoyo Rodriguez were victorious in singles action.

"Valentin and David had to move up a spot in the lineup and had solid performances," Cowley head coach Marcel Miasato said. "Valentin and Isaac (Rondon) played really well in doubles, and we tried a new tandem of Pedro De La Riva and David De Hoyo Rodriguez, and it worked as they played good together."

Cameron is coached by former Cowley College tennis player and head coach Josh Cobble.

Cowley will play at NCAA Division II Midwestern State on Tuesday at 2 p.m.

"We hope to have Felipe Garla back, and the guys can go back to the spots in the lineup they should be playing," Miasato said.
