Lady Tiger soccer team loses early lead in 3-1 road defeat

After scoring only six minutes into Saturday's contest at Johnson County, the Cowley College women's soccer team looked like they were on their way to a third straight victory. Unfortunately, that would be the only goal the Lady Tigers would score in the 3-1 defeat.

Cowley is now 6-4 overall and 3-4 in the Jayhawk Conference Western Division. Johnson County improves its record to 6-7 overall and 3-5 in conference play.

Freshman forward Lea Evin gave Cowley the early lead on Saturday by scoring her second goal of the season.

Johnson County would tie the game at 1-1 when sophomore Riley Porter scored 1:24 before halftime. Porter would assist on both of the Lady Cavaliers' second-half goals as they went on to the 3-1 win.

Johnson County freshman goalkeeper Olivia Seston was under pressure throughout but managed to save 10 of the 11 shots she faced.

Cowley will look to get back in the win column when they play at Garden City Wednesday at 4 p.m. The Broncbusters are 4-7-1 overall and 0-6-1 in the Jayhawk West.
