Vivianna Solis named VolleyballMag.com All-American

Cowley College volleyball standout Vivianna Solis is just one of 12 players selected to the NJCAA Division II team by a panel of coaches and experts at VolleyballMag.com. She joins two other players from the KJCCC conference DII ranks as Johnson County and Kansas City Kansas also had one selection each. KJCCC Division I Butler County also had a player honored.

Solis, a freshman from San Antonio, Texas, helped the Lady Tigers make a return to the NJCAA Division II National Championships, placing sixth in the national championship. On the year, Solis totaled 1,612 total assists at 11.77 assists per set, 35 kills, 381 digs at 2.78 digs per set, and 68 aces. She led the NJCAA and the KJCCC in total assists and assists per set. Solis ranks third on the single-season list for total assists. After her freshman season she ranks eighth on the career assists list and fourth on the career assists per set list.

"It is such a joy to see Vivianna be recognized in the All-American list issued by VolleyballMag.com," head coach Steven Gream said. "With only 12 players recognized among the many talented athletes out there, it is truly an honor to see Vivianna's hard work pay off. After an injury to our setter from 2021, she came to our program and had to not only learn our offense and style of play, but also had to make a quick transition from high school to the college level of play. Her and her teammates worked so hard this year and this honor is a testament of a total 'Team First' attitude where each player worked for and played for each other. I could not be prouder of Vivianna and her teammates."

Cowley won the Plains B District championship and finished sixth in the NJCAA DII national tournament with Solis leading in the rotation.
