The national champion Cowley College volleyball team recently announced their first signee for 2024 with the signing of Federica Ferrari of Milan, Italy.
Ferrari, a 5-foot-10 outside hitter/opposite hitter, prepped at Liceo Artistico Modigliani in Giussano, Italy. She began playing volleyball for Lissone Volley Team in 2014. She played for the club until 2017, when she then began to play for Volley Sovico for three years.
During those three years, Ferrari began to excel in the program. In 2018, she led the program to the Lombardy Region Championship with a top-16 finish.
In 2020, she played for Polisportiva Solaro and will play for them until the end of the season in 2024. In 2021, her team won the Division 1 conference championship and was promoted to the Series D conference.
In 2022, she played for Series C and finished sixth in the conference and also (the same year) played for Series D and finished 11th in the conference. Currently, her team is third in the conference in Series D.
"Federica is an excellent hitter who adds to our program her dynamic skills on offense and defense with her powerful attack and all-around abilities," Cowley head coach Steven Gream said. "She is such an impact player that can elevate a match with those abilities and confident play. In our search for a strong pin hitter, we saw her ability to provide an aggressive and consistent attack, a 'libero like' defensive and passing skills, an aggressive serve, and a solid block. We look for her to bring that experience and grow in the college game. We are excited to have her as a part of our program at Cowley."
Ferrari is the daughter of Loris Ferrari and Sabrina Fossati of Milan, Italy.
