Blitz Drive receives pledges for more than $65,000

Raising money for Tiger Booster Club Scholarships, Cowley College coaches, employees, and members of the community took to the streets for the school's annual Blitz Drive on Tuesday and eclipsed $65,000 in pledges with additional funds still trickling in. The Tiger Booster Club is optimistic to surpass $80,000 in donations.

According to Cowley College athletic director Jason O'Toole, the Tiger Athletic Department plans to reach out over the next few weeks to individuals they were unable to connect with on Tuesday.

"The Tiger Booster Club Blitz Drive is a great opportunity each year for our Tiger Booster Club Board and athletic department to come together and get out into our community to visit people that support Cowley athletics," O'Toole said. "This year was another good year and we would like to thank our boosters for their continued support. Knowing that all of the money raised throughout the community goes back into our community through athletic scholarships is both humbling and gives me a sense of pride."

During the past year, Tiger athletic teams combined for 12 national tournament appearances. In addition, several Tiger athletes were named to the 2021-2022 All-Academic teams.

The Tiger Booster Club has seven levels of membership that range from $150 to $5,000. TBC members are admitted free to all Tiger sporting events. Anyone interested in becoming a Tiger Booster Club member can contact the Cowley Athletic Department at 620-441-5268.
