2018-2019 Athlete of the Year

Having reached tremendous heights as a member of the Cowley College men’s track and field team, Blackmore was a freshman All-American and ran as part of the outdoor conference champion 4x800-meter relay team that placed sixth at nationals. He was also the 2018 indoor conference champion in the 800-meter run and has ran the second fastest indoor 800-meter time in school history.

As a sophomore Blackmore was named the 800-meter region champion and ran as part of the region champion 4x800-meter relay team. At the 2019 indoor nationals, he ran as part of the men's 4x800-meter relay team that broke the school record in the event and achieved All-American honors by placing third. He also garnered All-American honors by placing third in the 800-meter run. His performance helped Cowley finish second in the conference and place 12th at the indoor nationals.

Blackmore has helped the Tigers to a No. 17 national ranking in the outdoor season and recently signed to continue his track career with NCAA Division I Oklahoma State University.

Along with his success on the track, he is a student ambassador, is involved in Phi Theta Kappa, the International Student Organization, and the Reverb College Ministry. He was recently named the college's Homecoming King. The business administration major has a GPA of 3.64.

“The last few years at Cowley have made me the best that I could be,” Blackmore said.
