Cameron named one of the top 100 junior college basketball players

Cowley College sophomore Mekhi Cameron, who has signed early with the University of Northern Colorado, was recently named one of the top 100 junior college men's basketball players in the initial JucoRecruiting.com Top 100 Player Rankings for the 2023 JUCO class.

The rankings are based on a combination of production at the JUCO level and the player's projected performance at the next level, amongst other things. Cameron is the first Tiger since Darnell Cowart in 2018 to be named to the list.

Cameron, a 6-foot-4 guard from Atlanta, GA, is averaging 18.6 points and 4.9 rebounds per game as he has helped the Tigers to a record of 10-5.

"This is a great honor for our program and Mekhi," Cowley head coach Donnie Jackson said. "He has worked extremely hard to be recognized. He knows the work doesn't stop."

Cameron was among 13 players in the Jayhawk Conference named to the exclusive list.
