Tiger soccer teams conduct a clinic for special needs individuals

Members of Cowley College's men's and women's soccer teams were thrilled to provide instruction to special needs individuals in the community Monday night inside the Travis Hafner Training Center.

The student-athletes provided individuals in the community with an opportunity to learn the basics of the game of soccer. Likewise, the special needs individuals gave the Cowley student-athletes a chance to learn more about them.

"It was a great turnout and an amazing experience for all involved," Cowley head women's soccer coach Roberto dos Santos said. "For our student-athletes, it was priceless to bring smiles to the participants' faces."

Along with dos Santos and the Tiger players, Cowley men's soccer head coach Ruy Vaz and assistant coach Marcos Ribeiro assisted with the clinic before leaving for Florida to compete at the NJCAA Division I National Championship in Melbourne, FL.

"It was a great send-off for our Tiger men's soccer team, and we are already looking forward to the next time we can do another event like this," dos Santos said.
