Caique Trivelato

Trivelato named Jayhawk West Offensive Player of the Year

The honors continue to roll in for Cowley College sophomore Caique Trivelato as the star forward was named the Jayhawk Conference Western Division Offensive Player of the Year. Trivelato was joined on the list of First Team selections by six other Tigers.

With only 14 players named to the First Team, Tiger players made up half the list.

"Having seven players named to the First Team shows the respect the other coaches in the conference have for our program," Cowley head coach Ruy Vaz said.

Trivelato, the Jayhawk West Co-Player of the Year as a freshman, has continued his success in year two of the Tiger soccer program. Trivelato has scored eight goals and added five assists as he has helped the Cowley College men's soccer team capture a second straight district title.

"Caique is a dominant player that plays with the confidence that a stryker needs," Vaz said.

Joining Trivelato on the list of First Team selections were fellow Tigers Yuki Sekiguchi (two goals, three assists), Shunnosuke Nakajima (one goal, three assists), Yuki Nakamura (two goals, one assist), Pedro Arcoverde (two goals), Gabriel Verona (one goal), and goalkeeper Rafael Furlani (1.03 goals against average).

"I am proud of each of those guys," Vaz said.

Barton's Kataro Natsume was named the Jayhawk West Defensive Player of the Year, and Barton head coach Rafael Simmons was named Coach of the Year after leading the Cougars to a 12-5-1 record and a final regular season ranking of 11th.
