Bio

Former Cowley College track and field athlete Parker Ray returns for his third season as an assistant sprint, pole vault, jump, and multi-eventer coach at the college.

He has helped guide the Men’s and Women’s Tigers to back-to-back outdoor conference titles from 2022-2023.

During the 2023 season, Ray helped the Tiger men to a ninth-place national finish during the Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

In Ray’s time at Cowley, he has helped lead the Tigers to two national championships, eight Jayhawk Conference titles, 34 NJCAA All-Americans, three top-10 finishes at the NJCAA National Championships, and two national record holders.

Ray was born in Wellington, KS, and grew up in South Haven, Kansas. He went to South Haven High School, where he was a standout three-sport athlete and multiple-time state competitor. He graduated from South Haven High School in 2015.

He went on to compete at Cowley, where he was the Jayhawk Conference Eastern Division champion in the decathlon as a sophomore. He capped his Cowley College career by placing in the top 10 in the decathlon at the national meet.

He is newly and happily married to his wife, Delaney.
