Five Lady Tiger softball players named All-District performers
From the office of the Region VI Women's Director, the list of the NJCAA Division II Softball All-District selections was recently announced. The Cowley College Lady Tiger softball team, ranked 14th in the final regular season poll, had the second most selections with five players named All-District A.
Leading the way for Cowley were three First-Team selections, infielder Maci Cole (.486 average, 14 home runs, 62 RBI), outfielder Tatyana Curry (.372 average, 28 stolen bases), and pitcher Ashlynn Mercer (22-7, 2.44 ERA).
Outfielder Tye North (.327 average, six home runs, 40 RBI), and designated player Alivia Lange (.403 average, seven home runs, 44 RBI) were also recognized for their strong seasons by being named to the Second-Team.
The Lady Tigers finished second in the Jayhawk Conference Division B and finished the 2022 season with a record of 38-14.
