Fincher to take part in NJCAA Women’s Basketball Coaches Association TOP 40 All-Star Event

Cowley College sophomore Baylee Fincher, a two-time all-conference selection, was recently chosen to participate in the NJCAA Women's Basketball Coaches Association TOP 40 All-Star and Hall of Fame Event, July 20-23, in Atlanta, GA.

This past season, Fincher filled up the stat sheet for Cowley, leading the team in scoring (15.5 points per game), assists (3.6 per game), and steals (2.4 per game), to go along with 5.4 rebounds per contest. Fincher's 482 points scored this season were the program's 20th most points scored in a single season.

Fincher will represent Cowley College as one of 40 NJCAA student-athletes to participate in the 14th annual NJCAA Women's Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Weekend.

"This will be a great opportunity for Baylee to play with other talented players," Cowley head coach Todd Clark said. "I hope she competes well and showcases what she can do in front of other coaches. She is excited to play in the event and it should help in her recruitment."

The All-Star Weekend will include practices and games, along with entertainment and a Hall of Fame banquet. The dates also coincide with the July recruiting period for coaches at four-year colleges to attend and evaluate players.

The top 40 participants were selected from all three NJCAA divisions. There are 392 schools in the NJCAA, with Cowley College competing at the Division I level.
