Bio

Troy W. Thrasher begins his 11th season as an assistant coach at Cowley College and his 30th season overall in coaching. The Lady Tigers have gone 216-98 during his first 10 years at the school and qualified for the NJCAA Division I National Tournament for the first time since 1989 during the 2015-16 season.

Thrasher is the all-time winningest women’s basketball coach in the history of Brown Mackie College-Salina. Prior to coming to Cowley, Thrasher spent the previous four seasons at Brown Mackie, winning a total of 77 games, including winning 20-plus games per year each of the last three seasons.

The 2012-2013 Brown Mackie squad finished 23-9, tying a school record for most wins in a single season. That year’s team also led all junior colleges in the state of Kansas in points scored per game (75.5). Prior to Brown Mackie, Thrasher was a successful high school coach, posting a 184-88 record. He also had assistant coaching stops at Hutchinson Community College (women’s team) and the University of Dallas (men’s team). His career coaching record is 307-154.

Coach Thrasher is a graduate of Emporia State University, earning his BSE in 1994. He also holds a master's degree in athletic administration from Wichita State University (2002). Thrasher is the father of two, McKenzie and Madison.
