Tigers win home dual against Neosho 30-15

Hosting its first dual of the season, the Cowley College wrestling team doubled up Neosho County 30-15 Tuesday night inside W.S. Scott Auditorium.

Tiger interim head coach Justice Circle was pleased with how his team wrestled after a solid showing at the Friends University Open Saturday in Wichita.

"We had some guys step up and wrestle some tough matches," Circle said. "It was good to wrestle at home. It was a good crowd and environment to wrestle in."

Cowley got pins from four wrestlers; Trenton Grant at 133 pounds, Aidan O'Dell at 141 pounds, Melton Powe at 174 pounds, and Dean Setticase at 285 pounds.

"Bonus points win duals, and that is what we got tonight," Circle said.

Other Tigers to earn victories on Tuesday were Sebastian Rodriguez and Kanden Young.

Cowley will look to continue its momentum when they participate in the Northeastern Oklahoma A&M Duals Friday in Miami, OK. Matches will begin at 9 a.m.

"We will see a bunch of top-20 teams, so I am excited to see how we do," Circle said.
