"Kailea is a very talented athlete who has the ability to do a variety of things for our team and do them well," head coach Steven Gream said. "What caught our eye was her exceptional ball control on defense and serve receive plus her ability to be an offensive threat on the back row. She is very aggressive on the court and reads the ball well to get to the ball quickly. Her high volleyball IQ, strong coachability, and passion for the game were exactly what we were looking to add to our program. We knew we wanted her to be a part of our program. We know she will thrive and grow as she gains more experience at the college level."

She enhanced her skills by playing club volleyball for Elevation Volleyball Club. Off the volleyball court, Trinque was honored the Academic Excellence award each semester of her freshmen and sophomore years.
