Lady Tiger softball players sweep the weekly conference awards

Having helped the No. 17-ranked Cowley College softball team to 16 straight wins, Cowley College sophomore utility player Emily Louderback and freshman pitcher Mikah Vann were recently honored by the Jayhawk Conference for their efforts.

Louderback was named the Jayhawk East Player of the Week, while Vann was named the conference Pitcher of the Week.

Louderback continued her assault on opposing pitchers by reaching base 10 of 14 times as the Lady Tigers went 4-0 on the week. Louderback went 5-of-9 with five walks, two home runs, a double, nine runs batted in, and six runs scored as Cowley remained unbeaten in the conference.

Vann ran her winning streak to 12 games in a row with a pair of complete-game victories on the week. Vann allowed only nine hits and three runs in 14 innings while striking out 15 and walking one.

Cowley is now 37-10 overall and 14-0 in conference play.
