Tiger soccer players sign with four-year schools

Finishing another tremendous season with a District title, a win at the national tournament, and a record of 16-5, two Cowley College men's soccer players recently signed with NCAA Division I schools, while two others signed with four-year schools.

Sora Funakoshi signed with Central Florida, and Yuki Nakamura signed with Georgia State. Bruno Fornes signed with NCAA Division II Mars Hill University in North Carolina, and Yuto Toyoizumi signed with NCAA Division II school Saint Leo University in Saint Leo, FL.

"I am very proud of each of them," Cowley head coach Ruy Vaz said. "They have worked so hard to make Cowley a top program and they are deserving of their accomplishments."

Funakoshi (12 goals, 11 assists) and Nakamura were First Team all-conference selections. Toyoizumi finished the 2023 season with two goals and two assists, while Fornes added three goals and an assist.

"I wish them the best of luck and hope they keep representing Cowley to the best of their abilities," Vaz said
