Tiger tennis team bounces back from loss to Tyler

With the top three teams in the NJCAA Division I rankings meeting up Tuesday and Wednesday in Tyler, TX, the second-ranked Tyler Junior College Apaches got past the top-ranked Cowley College men's tennis team by a score of 6-3 on Tuesday. However, on Wednesday, Cowley bounced back to defeat third-ranked Eastern Florida State College 5-4. The Tigers finished their spring break trip by defeating NCAA Division II school the University of Nebraska Kearney with a score of 5-2 on Saturday in Arkansas City.

The Tyler Junior College Apaches and Tigers have combined for 11 national championships, with Cowley being the defending national champions. Cowley won two of three doubles matches against Tyler but could only win one singles match.

The Tigers finished strong by defeating third-ranked Eastern Florida State College and the University of Nebraska Kearney, as Cowley is now 7-2 on the season.

Cowley will play at NCAA Division II Northwest Missouri State University on Friday at 2 p.m. in Maryville, MO.
