Tigers pick up 7-2 win at fourth-ranked Barton

In a matchup of top-five teams in the NJCAA Division I Men's Tennis Rankings, the No. 1-ranked Cowley College Tigers defeated fourth-ranked Barton Community College by a score of 7-2 Saturday in Great Bend, KS.

Sophomores Bruno Nhavene and Reiya Komagata dominated their matches at No. 1 doubles and No. 1 and 2 singles, while Omar Suarez and Sergio Alejandro Gonzalez were victorious at No. 3 doubles and in singles play.

Cowley's other wins came from Valentin Greco at No. 4 singles and Tadeo Gaggiofatto at five singles.

"The guys fought hard, winning two out of the three singles and five of the six doubles," Cowley head coach Arianna Raga said. "Overall, they performed really well and the support and energy was there from all the guys." 

The Tigers, winners of four matches in a row, will play at ninth-ranked Seward County on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Liberal, KS.
