No. 1-ranked Tiger tennis team defeats ninth-ranked Seward 7-2

Winning its fifth straight match, the No. 1-ranked Cowley College men's tennis team defeated ninth-ranked Seward County 7-2 Monday in Liberal, KS.

Cowley won five of six singles matches and two of three doubles contests to improve its record to 10-2.

The Tigers will return home to play a match vs. Pratt Community College on Saturday at 4 p.m. in Arkansas City before hosting Emporia State University at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 18.

MEN

SINGLES 

*No. 1 - Bruno Nhavene (CC) defeated Sammy Antwi (SC) 6-2, 4-6, 6-1.

*No. 2 – Reiya Komagata (CC) lost to Sebastian De Las Salas Vasquez (SC) 4-6, 0-6.

*No. 3 – Omar Suarez (CC) defeated Cem Atlamis (SC) 7-6(5), 6-4.

*No. 4 – Valentin Greco (CC) defeated David Roseler Cabellero (SC) 6-3, 6-4.

*No. 5 – Pedro De La Riva (CC) defeated Ognjen Gajic (SC) 6-3, 6-2.

*No. 6 – Tadeo Gaggiofatto (CC) defeated Richard Patte (SC) 6-1, 6-2.

DOUBLES

*No. 1 - Komagata/Nhavene (CC) defeated Antwi/Atlamis (SC) 8-3.

*No. 2 – Joao Teixeira/Greco lost to Adamiak/Roseler (SC) 6-8.

*No. 3 - Gonzalez/Suarez (CC) defeated Gajic/Patte (SC) 8-5.
