Tiger track and field athlete receives KJCCC honors

Cowley College sophomore Julien Washington was recently named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Track and Field Athlete of the Week.

Washington, who came to Cowley from Winfield High School, had a personal best throw of 183-9 meters in the hammer throw while winning the event at the Tabor College Invite. Washington also threw a personal best 155-8 in the javelin. 

The Tiger track and field team will compete at the Southwestern College Relays on Saturday, April 27, before participating in the Region VI/Conference Championships May 3-4 in Pratt, KS.
