Henderson signs with Colorado State University Pueblo

Having left her mark on the Cowley College women's basketball program, super-sophomore Shamahra Henderson recently signed a letter of intent to continue her athletic and academic career at NCAA Division II Colorado State University Pueblo.

Henderson, who came to Cowley from Denver, CO, averaged 10 points and five rebounds per game her second year at the school and followed that up by averaging 6.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists during her third-year Covid season.

"My time at Cowley has been really good," Henderson said. "I have become mentally tough. Coach (Todd) Clark and Coach (Troy) Thrasher have helped prepare me for the next level."

Henderson is familiar with Colorado State University Pueblo head coach Tommie Johnson as he recruited her while in high school.

"I went on a visit and loved the coaching staff and players on the team," Henderson said. "I hope to help them get a ring."

Along with being a member of the Lady Tiger basketball team, Henderson was named Homecoming Queen and was listed on the Dean's Honor Roll.

"I am happy for Shamahra to earn this opportunity," Cowley head coach Todd Clark said. "The coach there (Tommie Johnson) believes in her talents, so I think it will be a good fit for her."
