Tigers drop a pair of duals, place third in the conference

The Cowley College wrestling team found wins hard to come by while taking on second-ranked Pratt Community College and 10th-ranked Northwest Kanas Tech on Wednesday in Goodland, KS.

The Tigers lost 47-7 against Pratt and 39-16 to Northwest Kansas Tech and finished in third place in the Jayhawk Conference behind conference champion Pratt and second place NW Kansas Tech.

Cowley got wins from Chance Davis (165 pounds) and Stefann Fearro (285 pounds) while competing against Northwest Kansas Tech.

"Chance, along with Stefann and Jacen Jackson, each had a pair of good matches," Cowley head coach Justice Circle said. "Unfortunately, we had to forfeit some matches due to injury."

Cowley will have some time off before competing at the NJCAA South Central District Qualifier on Saturday, February 10, at 8 a.m. in Great Bend, KS.

"We have a week and a half to prepare and heal up as much as possible for the national qualifier," Circle said.
