Lady Tiger tennis team takes down third-ranked NCAA Division II squad

Continuing to demonstrate why they are the top-ranked team in the NJCAA Division I tennis rankings, the Cowley College women's tennis team defeated Washburn University 6-3 Tuesday in Topeka. The Ichabods entered the match ranked No. 3 in the NCAA Division II.

"I am very proud of the girls' performance; they all showed up and played hard," Cowley head coach Arianna Raga said. "Washburn is always a tough opponent and ranked third in NCAA Division II."

Cowley's next three matches are versus conference opponents, beginning with Saturday's match at Barton at 1 p.m. in Great Bend, KS.

"The girls are very motivated and have been working hard all season," Raga said. "Now our focus is to win our next conference matches vs. Barton, Pratt, and Seward and prepare for regionals."
