Her junior season, she led her team to a 3A Arkansas State Volleyball runner-up finish and a conference runner-up finish.

In her senior year, Cate was named all-state, all-conference, and has been nominated for the Arkansas Volleyball All-Star game. In her junior season, she was named all-conference and to the all-state tournament team. Off the volleyball court, Cate also participated in basketball and track at Fountain Lake High School. She was a basketball post player and shooting guard, as well as, a shotput and discus thrower for the track team. Also, at Fountain Lake High School, Cate was named to the Beta Club, was an Altrusa recipient, received the Lauren English Britton Leadership award, named FLCHS Student of the Month, member of the FFA Agronomy Team, member of AHA sweethearts, and logged 128 volunteer hours at NPMC and 55 hours at LifeNet.

Cowley head volleyball coach Steven Gream states, "Landry is a great addition to our program. She has athleticism and timing that allows her to play strong at the net with her attacking and blocking abilities. In recruiting her, we were impressed with her court awareness, court vision, ability to play both middle and outside positions, and her ability to play strong at the net on both offense and defense. We were looking for a hitter who is able to do multiple things, run a variety of sets, and will give us another weapon on both offense and defense. She will adjust well to our fast-paced offense and run a variety of sets that our offensive system requires for a front row hitter. We are very excited to have her as a part of the Cowley volleyball program."

Cate is the daughter of Jason and Gina Cate of Hot Springs, Arkansas.
