Volleyball signs North Little Rock High School standout

Cowley College volleyball coach Steven Gream has announced the signing of North Little Rock High School standout, Mary Insalaco, to the Lady Tiger program. 

Insalaco, a 5-foot-3 libero/DS, prepped at North Little Rock High School in North Little Rock, Arkansas where she played four seasons. In her senior year, Insalaco led her team to a to a 17-5 season, qualified for the Class 6A quarterfinal round of the state tournament. and took the 6A Arkansas Central Conference championship. For her efforts she recorded 199 digs at 2.4 digs per set, was named Player of the Match three times, and was a two-time Player of the Week. In her junior year, Insalaco led her team to a 15-15 season and took third in the 6A Arkansas Central Conference. In her sophomore year, Insalaco led her team to a 21-8 season took third in the 6A Arkansas Central Conference.

"Mary is a strong and intelligent DS/Libero with explosive quickness, exceptional ball control and a no fear attitude," Gream said. "She has the great ability to read the ball, confidence to take a hard shot from any hitter, and has the ball control to provide a quality pass on serve receive. We are very excited to have her as part of our program and know she will thrive and grow as she gains more experience at the college level."  

Insalaco also participated in club volleyball for the 501volleyball club where she continued her training beyond her high school seasons and for college volleyball preparation. Off the volleyball court, she was named to Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society, and an Arkansas Scholar.   

Insalaco is the daughter of Vince and Kathie Insalaco of North Little Rock, Arkansas and Misty Insalaco of Sherwood, Arkansas.
