Trio of Tiger tennis players sign with four-year schools

A pair of Cowley College women's tennis players and a member of the nationally ranked Tiger men's tennis team recently signed letters of intent with four-year schools.

Tiger sophomore Alejandro Orihuela, who ranks 26th nationally in singles and has teamed with Aymeric Bruno to form the No.10-ranked doubles team, signed with NAIA school Ave Maria University in Maria, Florida.

Arihuela has helped the Tiger men's tennis team to a No. 2 national ranking heading into the NJCAA Division I National Tournament May 17-21 in Plano, TX. Lady Tiger tennis player Andrea Rodriguez Oria signed back in February to play tennis for the Ave Maria University women's tennis team.

Helping the Cowley College women's tennis team tie the highest national finish in program history by placing third at the NJCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championship in Mesa, AZ, Arianna Lumanog and Brailey DeLao recently signed letters of intent with four-year schools.

Lumanog signed with Midland University. The NAIA school is located in Fremont, Nebraska. While, Brailey DeLao signed with Northwestern College. The Red Raiders are an NAIA school located in Orange City, Iowa.

"I am happy for each of them to get the opportunity to continue their tennis and academic career," Cowley head coach Manuel Raga said.
