Bio

Before coming to Cowley College, Brady Matthews was an assistant men’s and women’s tennis coach at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. While with the Savage Storm, he had the university's first-ever Male ITA Central Region Champion (Manuel Pilotto) and reached the Fall Nationals (ITA CUP) in the Fall 2019 Season, also having a doubles pair (Gui Dos Santos/Marin Jurkovic) reach the Finals of the ITA Central Regional and reaching the Fall Nationals in 2022 (ITA CUP). Following that semester, the men’s team finished with a national ranking of No. 18.  

Matthews also had success on the women's side as well. Reaching the Great American Conference Championship in 2021, 2022, and 2023. After losing 4-3 in the championship in 2021, the team avenged that loss the following year to be Great American Champions not only in 2022 but repeated as champions in 2023.

While in the Great American Conference, Southeastern Oklahoma State had eight first-team All-Conference players, one Senior Player of the Year and one Freshman Player of the Year. Having players (Skye Royall in 2022 and Sara Gonzalez in 2023) be named Female Student-Athletes of all sports at Southeastern. 

Before going to Southeastern, Matthews spent the 2018-2019 season as the assistant men’s and women’s coach at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, where his teams posted 11 wins in his first season, highlighted by a first-team All-Horizon League selection. 

Matthews spent the 2018 Season with his alma mater, Seminole State College, and had the women's No. 1 doubles team reach the championship match and had the Trojans finish in the top six at nationals and the men finish top five at nationals.

Matthews received his Master's in Sports Administration at Southeastern Oklahoma State University and his bachelor's in business administration at Southwestern Christian University.
