Lady Tigers win third straight, defeat Dodge City 95-65

The Cowley College women's basketball team picked up its third straight 30-plus point victory with a 95-65 win over Dodge City Saturday inside W.S. Scott Auditorium.
After a tough, 0-3 start to conference play, the Lady Tigers are now 5-3 overall and 3-3 in the Jayhawk East. Dodge City has lost five in a row and is now 2-5 overall and 1-5 in the Jayhawk West.
On Saturday, Cowley went 6-of-11 from three-point range and led 30-13 after one quarter of play. The Lady Tigers' lead would grow to 53-28 as they forced Dodge City into 15 first half turnovers.
"We got off to a really good start, made shots and got after them," Cowley head coach Todd Clark said.
Sophomore Seanna Boltz hit two of her eight three-pointers as Cowley opened the third quarter on an 11-2 run. The Lady Tigers would lead 79-45 heading into the fourth quarter and led by as many as 41 points (93-52) in the 30-point win.
Boltz has hit 22 three-pointers during Cowley's three-game winning streak and finished with a game-high 28 points on Saturday.
"When she is making shots she is really good," Clark said.
Post players Martyna Kowalska (12 points, six rebounds) and Teagan Brouwer (eight rebounds) helped Cowley out-rebound Dodge City by 12.
"Martyna keeps getting better and Teagan was really solid defensively," Clark said.
Emery Maze led Dodge City with 19 points as the Lady Conquistadors committed 30 turnovers in the defeat.
Cowley, winners of three games in a row, will prepare to host Hutchinson Community College Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. The Lady Blue Dragons are 5-2 overall and 4-2 in the Jayhawk East.
