Holding Pratt Community College to 23 percent shooting, the Cowley College women's basketball team defeated the Beavers 68-43 Saturday inside W.S. Scott Auditorium.

The 43 points were the fewest points Cowley has allowed this season as they improved their record to 9-1 at home. The Lady Tigers, winners of three games in a row, is now 10-5 overall and 6-4 in the Jayhawk Conference.

On Saturday, the Lady Tigers got a three-pointer from Baylee Fincher with no time left in the first quarter to lead 18-8. Cowley's lead would grow to as many as 22 points (32-10) before settling for a 34-19 halftime advantage.

Fincher had eight points in the first half and Cowley held Pratt to 25 percent shooting from the floor.

"I thought we were really solid defensively and guarded well," Cowley head coach Todd Clark said.

Leading 37-23, Cowley would use a 14-2 run to lead 51-25. A four-point play by freshman Lexie Rose capped the run.

Cowley would take a 54-32 lead into the fourth quarter and led by as many as 30 points (68-38) in the 25-point win. Milena Fromming led Cowley with 13 points, while Martyna Kowalska added 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Fincher filled up the stat sheet, finishing with eight points, 10 rebounds, five assists and four steals.

"She almost always has a full stat sheet and does a lot to help us," Clark said.

Chariah Daniels and Christy Wiebe led Pratt with nine points apiece. Pratt, losers of eight games in a row, is now 2-11 overall and 1-8 in the Jayhawk Conference.

Cowley will return to action Monday when they play at Coffeyville at 5:30 p.m. The Red Ravens are 12-4 overall and 6-4 in the conference. Coffeyville handed Cowley its only home loss of the season back on November 17 in the conference opener for both teams.

"We have got to go on the road and be more competitive," Clark said. "We led for a lot of the game the first time we played them, but we have got to be able to finish better."
