Former Tiger standout named Big 12 Baseball Player of the Week

Bryce Madron, one of the top hitters to ever put on a Cowley Tiger baseball uniform, is having the same success as a member of the University of Oklahoma baseball team as evidenced by him recently being named the Big 12 Player of the Week.

Madron earned the honors after helping the Sooners sweep the University of Central Florida and then-No. 12 TCU over three games in Fort Worth, Texas.

Oklahoma is 6-0 in the Big 12 and alone atop the conference standings. The Sooners are currently ranked 17th nationally.

Madron was 6 for 11 from the plate with a home run and four RBIs in the three games played at TCU. He also recorded three hits and three runs scored in the midweek games. Madron is batting .353 on the season, while leading OU with 17 walks and is quickly becoming one of the most dangerous hitters in the conference.

In his first season at OU, Madron earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors after starting all 60 games in right field. He batted .320 and led the team with 51 RBIs, 58 runs scored, 15 doubles, 61 walks, and 127 total bases.

Prior to playing at Oklahoma, Madron was named a First Team NJCAA Division I All-American at Cowley College. Madron led the Tigers in nearly every single offensive category as he helped Cowley finish as the 2022 national runner-up at the JUCO World Series in Grand Junction, CO.

Madron broke Cowley's school record for hits in a career (185), doubles in a season (27), doubles in a career (49), runs scored in a career (183), and tied the school record for home runs in a season (20), runs scored in a season (96), and hits in a season (103).

During his two seasons at the school, Madron helped Cowley capture a pair of conference and region titles, win 101 games, and advance to the JUCO World Series.
