Bio

Scott Camien, a former assistant baseball coach at Cowley College from 2008-2010, returns to the Tigers as a replacement for the recently departed Butch Rea.

He helped the Tigers capture the Jayhawk East title in each of his three seasons as an assistant coach. While coaching at Cowley, Camien was also an associate scout for the Tampa Bay Rays.

In 2010, personal circumstances took Camien and his family down another path where they enjoyed the spoils of traditional family life while gaining new and inspiring perspectives.

Camien went on to coach at El Dorado High School from 2011-2022 before becoming an assistant coach at McPherson High School this past season.

Camien played baseball in high school at Topeka-Seaman. He then played two years of baseball at Allen County. He passed up a minor league contract with the New York Mets to play at Arkansas State University. After a season at ASU, he played his final year at Emporia State University.

He earned all-conference honors at Allen County and Emporia State. After playing, he spent two years teaching and serving as the head baseball coach at Leavenworth High School.

He then was offered an opportunity to be the associate head coach at his alma mater, Allen County, where he spent three and a half years.

At Cowley, he will not only serve as an assistant baseball coach, but he will also serve as the Central Avenue Dormitory manager.
