Raga tabbed Wilson ITA Coach of the Year

Cowley College tennis coach Manuel Raga has been named the 2023 Wilson Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Men's Coach of the Year.

Under the direction of Coach Raga, the men's tennis team at Cowley College has been taken to new heights. This past year, Cowley won the NJCAA Divison I National Championship with Coach Raga named Coach of the Tournament.

Raga helped lead Cowley to a region title, a national title, and a 12-1 record while guiding sophomore Takeshi Taco to an ITA Cup Singles Championship and an appearance at the ITA Fall National Championships. The National Title marked the first team championship since 1991 for the Cowley tennis program.

"I am grateful and honored to receive the NJCAA Men's ITA Coach of the Year Award," Raga said. "I couldn't do it without the support of our athletic department, administrators, my sister, and assistant coach Ari, all my players, and all the Tiger nation who supported us this past year."
