Tiger men’s tennis team knocks off two more NCAA Division II teams

Two more up, two more down. The top-ranked Cowley College men's tennis team improved its record to 4-0 on the season with two more wins over NCAA Division II schools. The Tigers defeated Midwestern State University 4-3 Friday in Wichita Falls, TX, before knocking off Cameron University 6-1 Saturday in Lawton, OK.

Cowley's three doubles teams went 2-0 on the weekend, while Bruno Nhavene and Reiya Komagata each went unbeaten in singles.

"The guys battled on Friday against MSU, winning all three doubles but sadly fell a little short on the singles," Cowley head coach Ariana Raga said. "Saturday against Cameron, the guys were able to move past the loss, and they really brought their best game; they won all three doubles, and lost only one singles match. 

Cowley will compete again on March 10 when they face NCAA Division II Mississippi Gulf Coast at the Tyler Invitational in Tyler, TX. The match with Mississippi Gulf Coast will be the first of four matches played in four days. 

"With our next match being a month away, we will focus on improving every day and getting both teams ready for our conference matches coming up in Tyler."
