Hanna Named Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

Etching their names into their respective school record books this past weekend, Cowley College sophomore Ranaldo Hanna and Hutchinson Community College sophomore David Thid are this week's Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Men's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week.

Hanna had a personal-best mark in the long jump at the Wichita State University Coach Wilson Invitational to place third overall with a mark of 7.23 meters (23 ft. - 8.75 in.), the second-best mark in school history. The jump currently ranks 10th in the NJCAA as he also competed in the high jump and placed fifth with a mark of 1.90 meters (6 ft. - 2.75 in.).

Blue Dragon Sophomore David Thid broke the oldest record remaining on the Blue Dragon indoor track record books, breaking a 38-year record in the men's 400 meters to win the Washburn Open with a national qualifying time of 47.16 seconds. Thid also ran the anchor leg of the Blue Dragons' fourth-place 4x400 relay team that qualified for nationals with the second-fastest Blue Dragon time in team history of 3:14.89.
