Hughes garners Third Team All-American honors
Having already been named a First Team All-Conference and All-District softball performer, Cowley College sophomore Paige Hughes capped her stellar playing career by being named a Third Team NJCAA Division II All-American.
Hughes led Cowley in batting average (.459) and on base percentage (.487), as well as tied for the team lead in hits (67) and stolen bases (39). She helped the Tigers finish with a record of 34-19.
"This is a great way to end her career at Cowley," Lady Tiger head coach Jenny Hoyt said. "She overcame injuries her first season, then went through a cancelled season prior to getting to play this year. To me, this goes to show that her hard work paid off in the end. I am super proud of her and can't wait to see her name on the All-American board (at the softball field)."
