Lady Tigers run into a buzzsaw in 108-74 loss at 13th-ranked Dodge City

The No. 13-ranked Dodge City women's basketball team showed why they have not lost since November in a 108-74 home win over Cowley College on Saturday. The victory was the conference-leading Conquistadors' 10^th straight win.

Cowley trailed 26-8 at the end of the first quarter and went into halftime down 56-30 as Dodge City shot 62.2 percent from the floor and made 8-of-13 three-point attempts.

The Lady Conquistadors continued to blister the net in the second half as they led 85-53 after three-quarters of play and shot 60.3 percent in the victory.

"Dodge City is really good and shot the ball unbelievably well," Cowley head coach Todd Clark said. "They did a good job of hitting some contested shots."

Jenna Rose Mafua led five players in double figures for the Conquistadors with 20 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.

Lady Tiger sophomore Lexi Rose came off the bench to score a season-high 11 points as she shared team-high honors in scoring with Shamahra Henderson and Carson Dean.

Cowley forced Dodge City into 28 turnovers as the Lady Tigers are now 10-10 overall and 5-9 in the Jayhawk Conference.

The Tigers will return home to face Barton Community College Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Barton is 16-3 overall and 10-3 in the conference. The Cougars are tied for second in the conference with Butler.

"We have got to put this game behind us and come out ready to play on Wednesday," Clark said.
