Tiger wrestlers take part in Golden Norsemen Open

Eager to return to the mat for just the second time this semester, the No. 13-ranked Cowley College wrestling team had some solid performances at the Golden Norsemen Open held Saturday in Miami, OK.

"We needed mat time, so I am thankful we were able to add this tournament on short notice," Cowley head coach Beau Vest said.

The Tigers were led by Ryan Smith going 3-1 and placing second at 133 pounds, while Robbie Rosser won three of five matches at 125 pounds and placed fourth.

"Those two wrestled really well," Vest said.

Cowley will now prepare to take part in the MVC Open Saturday in Marshall, MO.

Cowley results:

*125 pounds – Robbie Rosser (CC) went 3-2 and placed fourth.

*133 pounds – Ryan Smith (CC) went 3-1 and placed second.

*141 pounds – Trenton Grant (CC) went 2-2.

*149 pounds – Brandon Kidd (CC) went 2-2.

*157 pounds – Nathan Adamson (CC) went 1-2.

*165 pounds – Daniel Camilo-Ferreira (CC) went 0-2.

*174 pounds – Makana Tapia (CC) went 2-2.

*184 pounds – Mouhamadou Sene (CC) went 0-2.

*285 pounds – Dean Setticase (CC) went 4-2.
