Tiger wrestlers face stiff competition at NEO Duals

Getting each member of its squad mat time, the Cowley College wrestling team faced some quality opponents at the Northeastern Oklahoma University Duals held Friday in Miami, OK.

The Tigers defeated Jayhawk Conference foe Neosho 26-22 in the first round before falling to No. 2-ranked Iowa Central 36-12 in round two. No. 10-ranked North Idaho would then get past the Tigers 42-9 in round three.

Cowley got two wins apiece from Trenton Grant (141 pounds), Melton Powe (174 pounds), Kanden Young (197 pounds), and Stefaan Fearon (285 pounds). Aidan O'Dell picked up the Tiger's other victory on the weekend.

"We wrestled hard in some matches, but we have a lot to clean up before Thursday at Pratt," Cowley interim head coach Justice Circle said.

The Tiger's dual at No. 4-ranked Pratt on Thursday will begin at 7 p.m.
