Jaidi’s hat trick lifts Coffeyville women’s soccer team to road win at Cowley

The Cowley College women's soccer team suffered a tough 3-2 loss Saturday at home against the visiting Coffeyville Community College Red Ravens. The Lady Tigers led 2-0 before Coffeyville rallied for the victory behind three goals from Alia Jaidi.

The loss was the second one-goal defeat in a row for the Lady Tiger soccer team, as they are now 7-6 on the season. Coffeyville improves its record to 11-4-1.

On Saturday, Cowley got first-half goals from Lucia Rivas and Berta Del Hoyo Borrell to lead 2-0 with 13 minutes left before halftime. Unfortunately, the Red Ravens would score less than two minutes later to gain some momentum. Coffeyville would tie the game on Alia Jadi's second goal two minutes before halftime.

The score would remain tied until late in the game when Jaidi scored her third goal with 6:35 remaining. Cowley would be unable to answer as they suffered its fourth one-goal defeat of the season.

Things will not get any easier for the Lady Tigers as they will travel to play at 15th-ranked Hutchinson Wednesday at 6 p.m.
