Lady Tiger tennis team falls to No. 22-ranked Mustangs

The Cowley College women's tennis team, ranked third in the NJCAA Division I poll, continued its challenging early season slate by playing at Midwestern State University Wednesday in Wichita Falls, TX. The Lady Tigers battled hard but fell by a score of 5-2 to the Mustangs, which are ranked No. 22 in the NJCAA Division II.

"We have been going through a few tough weeks because we have had a couple of girls injured," Cowley head coach Manuel Raga said.

On Wednesday, Cowley's victories came from singles players Ntokozo Zungu and Tshegofatso Tsiang.

Cowley is now 2-5 on the season. The Lady Tigers will face a Tyler tennis team that is 6-4 on the season. Saturday's match will begin at 10 a.m. in Plano, TX.

"I know we have the talent and the skill to win, it is just a matter of time of getting everyone healthy to compete at a high level," Raga said.
