Second-ranked Lady Tiger tennis team takes down NCAA Division II squad

Getting wins from two doubles teams and three singles players, the No. 2-ranked Cowley College women's tennis team defeated the University of Nebraska-Kearney 4-2 Sunday in Kearney, NE.

After winning the doubles point, the Lady Tigers got singles wins from Arina Babenko, Mariia Koroleva, and Mariana Jimenez to secure the dual. "I am very happy with the team's performance in doubles," Cowley head coach Manuel Raga said. "We started playing fast and aggressively, which helped us to win the doubles point. The girls had to dig deep to get the win against a tough, well-coached team."

UNK is receiving votes in the NCAA Division II Top 25 and is now 8-2 on the season.

Cowley will remain on the road to face NCAA Division II Midwestern State University Saturday at 9 a.m. in Wichita Falls, TX.
