Lady Tiger tennis team beats up on No. 7-ranked Seward 8-1

The No. 2-ranked Cowley College women's tennis team won its seventh match in a row when they defeated No. 7-ranked Seward County 8-1 Saturday in Arkansas City.

Cowley won two of three doubles matches before going unbeaten in singles play.

"I am happy with the win against a tough conference rival," Cowley head coach Manuel Raga said. "I felt the team handled the situation very well after a slow start in doubles. The singles play was great, and I felt everyone played really disciplined and smart tennis."

Cowley will remain home to face sixth-ranked Barton County Thursday at 1 p.m.

"We will prepare accordingly and be ready to play our best tennis once again," Raga said.
