Pereyra and Karlau capture doubles title at ITA Cup
Qualifying to compete among the country's top junior college tennis players, five Cowley College tennis players recently competed at the ITA Cup on October 10-13 at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, GA.
Lady Tiger tennis players Serena Pereyra and Sofia Karlau teamed to capture the NJCAA women's doubles title. Pereyra also performed well in singles, finishing as the runner-up.
Cowley sophomore Akari Tomoyose also fared well, placing third in singles play.
The Tiger men were represented at the ITA Cup by the doubles tandem of Pedro de la Riva and Valentin Greco, who placed fifth.
"It was a great tournament and an opportunity to play against the top schools in the country," Cowley head coach Marcel Miasato said. "I am looking forward to seeing what we can achieve in the spring semester."
