Ainsley Carson, a former student in Cowley College’s athletic training program, was recently hired to be an assistant athletic trainer at the school.

Carson graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 2018 and attended Cowley College to work in the Athletic Training Program. While a student at Cowley, she was named the Student of the Month.

After Cowley, she transferred to Kansas State University and received a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and Rehabilitation Science in 2022, with minors in Gerontology and Kinesiology. Carson graduated with a Master of Science in Athletic Training in 2024.

During her time in the master’s program at K-State, she had the opportunity to work with Washburn University Athletics, Junction City High School, the orthopedic clinic located in Manhattan, and Kansas State University men’s basketball.

Carson returned to Cowley during the spring semester of 2024 and completed her clinical rotations by treating the Tiger athletes.

“It was time for me to return to Tiger Nation and become a part of the sports medicine team here at Cowley,” Carson said. “With the support from the head athletic trainer (Blake Smith), coaches, and other athletic department staff, I am ready to provide top-level care to all of our Cowley athletes.”
