Keeping pace with Johnson County for first place in the Jayhawk East, the No. 4-ranked Cowley College baseball team shut out Allen Community College in both games of a doubleheader played Thursday in Arkansas City. The Tigers run-ruled the Red Devils 11-0 in game one before winning game two by a score of 8-0.

Cowley College freshman Kyler Zagar and Johnson County freshman Jeremy Comer took home Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference East Division baseball awards for Week 4. Zagar was named the Jayhawk East Pitcher of the Week, and Comer was named the Jayhawk East Player of the Week.

Two days after scoring 23 runs in a pair of wins over Neosho County, the No. 9-ranked Cowley College baseball team faced the Panthers in Chanute on Saturday. This time, Neosho held the Tigers to one run in a 3-1 victory of Saturday’s first game, and the Panthers led Cowley 8-2 in the eighth inning of game two before the Tigers rallied to win 13-8 in 10 innings.
