Cheer Tryouts

At this time, we will only be accepting video tryouts for the 2022-2023 team. The video tryout needs to include the following skills: Cheerleaders will be judged on personality, floor presence, and skills. All Cheerleaders must be energetic, athletic, possess a good “stage presence” and advanced cheerleading skills.

1. Introduction: This can be by video or in letter (resume like) format. List your name, age, what is your incoming classification (freshman or sophomore) and brief cheer history. Also, please include why you are interested in attending Cowley and your academic goals.
2. Chant
3. Jumps: Toe Touch, Pike
4. Tumbling: Cheerleaders should be able to execute some form of standing tumbling. (but not required) Back handsprings are acceptable; however, standing backs are preferred.
5. Running Tumbling: preferred passes are round-off handspring series, handspring backs. (But not required)
6. Stunting: All-Girl/CO-ED Extinction, Liberty, Heal Stretch. (You can include a past video of you with your team.) *Flyers must show a full twisting cradle dismount from anybody position from of one of the skills listed above. If not available, show a dismount other than a straight cradle.
