Ridgnal, Rodriguez Oria named November Athletes of the Month

With their sights set on competing in the spring season, Cowley College sophomores Dalen Ridgnal and Andrea Rodriguez Oria were recently named Cowley College's November Athletes of the Month.

Ridgnal, a Third Team NJCAA Division I All-American during the 2019-2020 season, became the first freshman All-American in the men's basketball program since Sonny Maynard in the 1955-56 season. Ridgnal recorded 20 double-doubles and averaged 16.4 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. Prior to being named an All-American, Ridgnal was named a First Team All-Region VI and All-Conference selection, the Jayhawk East Freshman of the Year, and was named to the Region VI All-Tournament Team.

The Business Administration major has a 3.36 grade point average and helped Cowley to a Jayhawk East title and a record of 26-6 as a freshman.

Andrea Rodriguez Oria is a sophomore member of the Lady Tiger tennis team. The talented player from Spain won the Regional doubles championship last year and was ranked as high as No. 3 in the NJCAA national rankings during the Spring 2020 season. Currently she is ranked sixth in the NJCAA national ranking in doubles. She recently won each of her singles and doubles matches during the Tiger-Jinx invitational tournament where she competed against 11 different teams ranging from junior college to NCAA Division II programs. 

Rodriguez Oria is majoring in Business Administration and has a grade point average of 3.74.
